Physical Description: Faeze looks like any normal human; long, black hair and dark brown eyes. His heavily tanned complexion betrays his desert heritage and he speaks with a thick accent, but he otherwise fits in well with those around him. He has a preference for loose, flowing garments like kimono-styled robes (perhaps because of Stigma) and always wears his thin, wire-frame glasses.
Stigma looks as abnormal as Faeze looks average. With slitted, cat-like dark red eyes and hair the color of seaweed (straight, chest-length on one side but gradually shortening to chin-length on the other), he certainly stands out in a crowd. His skin seems a patchwork of a variety of flesh scraps, inconsistent in color but with an artistic symmetry on each side. Areas of skin range from white, to peach, to ruddy red, and the stitching lines remain visible along the borders. His arms and hands have the normal structure of a human's, but one is covered with tiny, greenish scales similar to snakeskin and the other short, white fur. His legs are built like the hind legs of a canine (and covered with light brown fur) so his walking can be a little awkward, but he always moves bipedally. A fluffy, white and brown striped tail helps him keep his balance. Stigma wears the same loose clothing as Faeze, covering most of his body and saving on the costs of specialized tailoring.
Personality: Kind-hearted but outgoing, Faeze is a little strange with his exuberant attitude and happy-go-lucky demeanor. He loves all his 'precious dumplings' and is generally easy to be around, if a little tiring. He always seems to have plenty of energy and loves to laugh and have a good time. Being an alchemist, his morals regarding the sanctity of life may be a little warped, but he seems good-natured.
Stigma despises the 'worthless wastes of flesh' that inhabit his classroom, but he still does his job. Causticly sarcastic and cynical, he's very cruel verbally though he rarely lays a hand on any of the students. He always interacts with sneers and biting retorts so he's far from pleasant company, and tries to avoid others as much as he can.
History: Raised as a desert nomad, Faeze has been exposed to a variety of arts since he was very young. He almost immediately became completely fascinated with Alchemy, and devoured everything he could learn about the subject. His childhood and young adulthood were relatively uninteresting, but after he finished his training he took to traveling, practicing his alchemy religiously whenever he could.
Learning the craft of creating homunculi was a little more difficult, and took him many years to master. Little flesh golems were the start, and soon he also mastered soulless chimeras. Next came the crafting of beings with sentience, and finally of humanoids with a soul.
Stigma was only a prototype, an experiment that was supposed to be discarded afterwards. Faeze molded his body from scraps of previous creations and used a variety of working organs from creatures and even other humans, along with synthetic parts. But adding a soul into the mix was an entirely different matter, and Faeze had to enlist the aid of powerful archmage. Taking place in a cemetary, the spell was supposed to absorb residual spirit energy left behind by the deceased and compress it into a quasi-spirit that would be connected to Stigma. As spells sometimes do, however, it went awry, and ripped Faeze's own soul from what secured it to his being.
The result is a rather interesting case of two bodies sharing one soul. Every night, the soul travels from one body to the other, resulting in a daily change between the two entities. Even days awaken Faeze to go about his tasks, and odd days belong to Stigma. When they lay down at night to sleep, they must be close to the body of the other to limit the danger to the soul as it makes its nocturnal travel.
