Gah. Okay. So, I joined a little while ago, and I have YET to get an avatar. No, this is not because I can't decide on one or anything, it's because Proboards is pissing me off. Badly.
I've tried numerous times to upload an avatar, but to no avail! Every time, I do exactly what it says, and I click the little button. It takes ya to the next page that supposedly shows the changes you made, you know? Well, I look on the page, only to find that absolutely no changes have been made. I don't get it! I think the Proboard Gods are angry at me. D:
I've debated with myself over whether or not to ask for help, but today, I was trying again, and it really made me angry, so here I am, asking for help. You know, there's probably something I'm completely missing because I can be so dense like that. Just... uh... Someone help? =]

Hmm... Well, my immediate thinking is that perhaps your image is too large or some such. I know Meebo will mess you up if the image file size is too large when uploading an Avatar... Also, is the image posted elsewhere on the web or are you just giving the location on your PC? I know, it's a stupid question, but I've known people to make that mistake. The image has to be hosted elsewhere; Deviantart and Photobucket are both good locations to host...
I hope I help at all... <Smile and Thumbs Up>

Yeah, after pasting your image URL (I use photobucket) make sure you put in 100x100 in the length/width. Even if the picture is too large Proboards will resize it automatically. I haven't had any problems with it myself, so I'm not entirely sure what the issue is.
Let us know if it still doesn't work.

Yeah, I have the image hosted on my Photobucket, and I was very very meticulous in making sure that it was 100x100, and I entered 100x00 in the length and width boxes. No matter what I do, my image won't show up. TT______TT

Well, hm...try using a different image and see if it works, or try uploading the image again on photobucket under a different name. I know someone a lot more knowledgeable about Proboards than myself, so I'll ask her in the morning and let you know what she says.
Best of luck in the meantime <3

I had the same problem. In the end, I had to Copy-paste it from an uploaded internet source, and not select to change any other options at the same time.

Yeah... I've tried several different images, actually, and none of them have worked. And I don't try to change any other options at the same time. I've never seen a forum site like this have an issue quite like this, so I am very puzzled. D:
But really, thank you all SO much for all the help. =] You're all so sweet.
