Luka sat in a corner of the library, a book open in his hands. He didn't pay attention to the few students and faculty that wandered the library, not in a mood for socializing. He liked this spot - quiet and far from the windows; though he could move about in sunlight, it was harsh on his eyes. And it was peaceful here, unlike the busy hallways or courtyard.
The vampire lowered his book, resting his head on his hand, his arm still on the chair's armrest. Even though he wanted to read, he was distracted. He intended to start his classes soon, but he still thought of the problems in his former home. Though he had spent over a month there, he could tell that the residents hated him no less then than they had when he first left the town. Luka suppressed a sigh. He still wanted to return and help them, even if it made their hatred for him grow. But as a member of the school's staff, he couldn't stay away any longer, and perhaps that was for the best. Regardless, he was having trouble bringing his focus back to the academy. In an effort to calm his conflicted feelings, he pushed a stray few strands of hair out of his eyes and returned to his reading. At least he wasn't being disturbed here.
(Look at that, a POST! Sorry it's short.)

(There are no short posts on a forum XD)
Not being disturbed yet, maybe, but there were always those people who couldn't help but interrupt a peaceful reverie.
And Theron happened to be one such individual.
Professor Theron Wselfwulf of the Dark Elemental and Transformation classes, most known for being one of the last teachers a student would want to piss off. Having worked at the school almost since its inception, he was notorious for harming disrespectful students, though he rarely lost his temper enough to inflict damage beyond what a practitioner of the healing arts could mend.
Psychological damages aside.
He didn't frequent the library but he was there that afternoon, thick text in hand. When he caught sight of the vampire, he paused.
"Professor de Versailles," he began with a curving smirk, something characteristically predatory yet not threatening, like the fanged grin of a domesticated canine. His sharp yellow eyes had the glint of a hunter, but not of one viewing any type of prey.
In fact, he seemed to be in a rather good mood and he stepped towards the vampire's chair. "Enjoying the first day of the year?"

Luka's eyes flicked up to the professor as he closed his book. Theron Wselfwulf. Not the most pleasant company in the school, but not the worst. He regarded him with his usual stoic expression, not pleased by the interruption, but not feeling irritated, either.
"Well enough," he returned, standing. "And I trust that you are?"
He didn't mind going through formalities or even a light conversation, despite his mood. The vampire had classes to teach soon, anyway, and at least this gave him a chance to practice setting his feelings aside for the sake of appearances. If they knew of his current state, there were plenty of students at the school that would try to take advantage of it, whether out of malicious intent or their own idea of fun. And Luka had no intention of being taken advantage of.
"Don't you have class soon, Professor?"

"I'm enjoying it immensely," Theron answered, smirk in place. He meant no ill towards Luka -- nor any of the faculty currently -- but he had a demeanor that always made it seem as though he was playing some game. It tended to be off-putting to those unused to his company, which was such a shame since he did love to socialize. "Though I already have a smart-mouthed troublemaker in one of my classes."
Edward Roxibus...
"I doubt he'll remain a nuisance for long."
Disrespect vexed Theron, and he had very little patience for things that annoyed him. Not that he would do anything too horribly bad to any of his students, of course.
At the vampire's second question, he gave a light shrug, leaning against a nearby table. "I don't have class 6th period, so I'm taking a break," he answered.
He did next period, but his classroom was pretty much set since nothing interesting happened on the first day.
"All your classes are in the morning, hm?" he inquired conversationally, his yellow eyes never losing their perpetually playful glint. "Mm, but I don't envy your class sizes."
Core classes were always huge...

A face, no neck, no body, no anything but a face wearing a red crooked top hat, faded into being behind Theron, and floated there quietly waiting for a break in the conversation. When Theron had finished his last sentence, the floating head gave a bit of a cough into a glove that temporarily appeared out of nowhere hoping to get their attention. "Would you gentlemen have happened to see a student stray in here when the sixth period bell rang? I'm looking for a truant by the name of Dita."

"You're certainly capable of handling your students, I don't doubt that." Troublesome students weren't new to the academy, and the staff weren't new to disciplining them. Luka didn't agree with the methods some of the teachers used, but the students knew the nature of the school. If they chose to be problematic for someone like Theron, the consequences were their own fault.
Ah...yes, his classes were in the morning, but he had arrived too late to hold any of them yet. "They are, but will be starting tomorrow." True, the classes were large, but they weren't especially difficult to handle. "Regardless of the size of my classes, I doubt they're any more difficult to deal with than those who would study dark magic. Am I wrong?"
Luka's attention shifted to the floating head, then, his expression remaining as unchanging as it had when he had been addressing Theron. "I didn't." The vampire had been more focused on his book than the comings and goings of the students. "What about you, Professor?"

Sitting at the main desk was a girl with long raven black hair. Some of it framed around her pale thin face. Her name is Romien, it's the headmaster's youngest child. She had taken on the 'job' as librarian so she could be in the school near her two friends as well as being close enough so Sisao could make sure she was safe. She loved working in the library, it was peaceful and there were plenty of books to keep her very happy.
A book sat open on top of the desk and she would turn the pages so often , look up around the room, and then go back to reading. She tried not to pay any attention to the professors who were talking. It wasn't any of her business. Luka seemed like a very nice man, she had never had the chance to really speak to him face to face, only the brief occasion when her father would speak with him or during meetings. Theron made her nervous and the other one.....was just weird.
Sighing, she folded her arms on the top of the table and smiled kinda daydreaming.

Yllarius stepped into the library, letting the cool air flow over his perfect face. He sighed and looked around, still slightly steamed about his past encounter in the faculty room. Spotting two other professors and... a floating head? This he had to investigate. He smoothed his robes and casually walked torwards them.
"Hello." He bowed deeply, his perfect hair falling past his face as he bowed, but came right back into place as he stood upright. "I'm Yllarius, I teach the Illusion and suggestion class, in most cases." He said, referring to his unusually abscence as of late. "I hope I'm not intruding..?"He asked, looking from Luke, to Theron, to the floating head.

The floating head's expression soured as he tilted away, as if he stood before something unpleasant. Once again, the gloves materialized, but this time with a rather odd looking cane in one hand. At the tip of the cane was another white gloved hand held in a pointing position. Raising the cane, he prodded the newcomer in the chest pointedly. "What sort of unpunctual *poke*, irresponsible, *prod* innnconsiderate *jab* vagrant doesn't show up to teach his own class on the first day?! Hmm? *poke* Some nerve! Oh, and have you seen a student running around here by the name of Dita? He's late for illusions class. That residual should be nearing the end of his lecture." Reaching into an invisible pocket with his free hand, the floating head pulled out an odd watch with multiple hands, some flailing madly, some stationary. Viewing it, his expression grew even more dour. "Bollix! It's ended already."

Twice Theron had been about to respond, and twice he was interrupted before the words left his mouth. He paused with a slight frown, lifting a hand to brush some of the short, black locks from his face. He didn't mind the presence of the other two faculty members, but he realized he probably should be getting ready for his seventh period class. Did he even have class seventh period? Bah, he could never remember.
"A missing student, you say?" Theron said to Soren after he chewed out Yllarius. "Can't say I've seen him."
But the golden-eyed instructor paused, touching a finger to his chin thoughtfully. He then grinned, showing multiple sets of white fangs. "But...if you need the help, I'm certain I can find him for you."
He was good at locating people. Objects, not so much, but people he could do. "Are you sure he's in the library?"

The odd watch poofed out of the head's hands as he turned to face Therone. All the rest of him materialized as he did, revealing what was among the oddest looking of characters. Every bit of his accent yelled British, but his attire was something different. He wore a deep red top hat who's shape suggested a dinged up half opened can. Out of the top of this hat, well within the shadows, could be seen various tiny eyes of various shapes, opening, peering, squinting, and moving. A pitch black tentacle uncurled itself out into the light and various insects seemed to crawl out to tuck themselves in the cloth wrapped around it's base.
Beneath this was a mess that appeared more like various squiggled strokes of India ink than real hair. Looking deep down into this curious tangle, one could see what looked like gnats roving over his skin and hair, though if one took a second look, there was nothing there, usually. Over his eyes was a pair of glasses, tinted red like the rest of his attire. Though they seemed transparent, the unnatural reflections on them constantly hid the eyes beneath. His broad smile matched Therone's with fangs, though there was something unnatural to his expression. He wore a white and pink striped shirt with a ruffled kerchief around his neck, a maroon vest with gold buttons that blinked and looked about, long cotton briefs, pointed deep brown shoes, and over all this, a red trench coat whose cut was so jagged and pointy that it complimented the overall insane appearance and existence of its owner.
"I have scoured most the rest of the school's interior for stray students, and all seem to be in their place. The areas I haven't checked thoroughly are the library, dungeons, faculty lounge and outside. It could very well be that some of our more lusty of professors have detained him. I had best get a hall pass though." He had trailed in his thoughts and was no longer talking to anyone but himself for a minute, but as if a light had clicked on, he paused, tilted his head to look at Therone, smiled ever more broadly and said, "Would you be a dear? I have a class I need to return to seeing as how my residual has expired and our chum here thinks he can skip." The cane poofed into his hand as he held it up to Yllarius and gave the truant a sharp prod.

"Unpunctual, irresponsible, innnconsiderate vagrant Eh?" Yllarius said, dusting his robes off after this filthy... thing... had touched him. "Guard your tounge, if I were you I would be more aware of oneself before pointing the finger at the other." Yllarius grinned, his body and clothes brightning with his mood. "If I may be so bold, you are neglecting your classroom as well. For all you know your students could have killed each other by now." He slitted his eyes at Soren, his distaste clearly showing. "Students can be... oh so naughty when the head turns." He laughed and stepped back as the rest of the thing materialized. He was almost repulsed at the sight, the bugs and tangled hair. He took a few steps back and looked to Theron to save his eyes the sight. "So, the creature rears it's ugly head. I would at least care a little more about your appearance. I don't want someone to msitake you for a homeless man." When the cane hit him he scowled, but ignored it. "If any of you happen to see he headmaster however, please remind him I will be taking my class back from this... disgrace, first thing tomorrow."

The red clad figure broke out into an eerily echoing peel of laughter as everything but his broad smile faded like a Cheshire cat. The floating mouth tilted in toward Therone, saying jauntily, "Ugly is in the eye of the ever so fooled beholder, is it not? I take it this one's new?," while a new form materialized around the fanged smile. It continued to laugh, though the tonality changed, shifting from one of bright and insane glee to that of a deep and menacing base. Golden eyes popped out of nothing, glaring with a hunter's amusement as rich black strands of hair streamed like shadow down a lunar white face. Inch for inch, it was a replica of Therone himself, from the voice and attitude to the expression. "Keeping well within character," the duplicate purred sinisterly as he turned to Yllarius, "Who's a sexy mother f_cker now?" Grinning broadly with all his fangs glinting, the duplicate ran a hand seductively through his hair and down to his chest, rubbing it as he licked his lips. "And also, if I may be so bold, illusions are no substitute for poor hygiene and the degenerative affects of aging. What they can't see, My Dear Meat Sack, they'll surely smell." With that said, Therone II tilted his head back and had an expression on his face like someone enjoying a hot shower. He started to mouth something as he swayed a bit, then sang,
"Cause this is thrilleeeeer! Thriller night There ain't no second chance against the thing with forty eyes"
He pantomimed the famous dance steps with growing enthusiasm as his volume increased steadily.

Yllarius laughed as well. "I keep myself better groomed than you could imagine. There are those who do not smell, and as such cannot be smelled." He waved a finger at 'Therone II'. "Illusions can do much more than effect someones eyesight." As he said this the room filled with the intoxicating scent of roses. "And aging is a two way process to those who know how." He took a book from a shelf, as he held it it decayed until it seemed as if it would crumble to dust, then reversed itself until it was like new. "I know what Illusions can and cannot do. The question is, do you?" He sighed when IT started singing, he could have easily blocked the sound from his mind, but the ravings of a lunatic can be oh so entertaining...

(There's no E at the end of Theron's name, guys <3)
"Relatively new," Theron answered Soren with a smirk, crossing his arms over his chest when the other's illusion changed. "Your imitation of me improves every year -- I'm rather flattered."
When Soren started to dance, though, the smirk faded, and Theron waved a hand through the image of himself as if trying to disperse it like a puff of smoke. "Hey! Come on, now, people are watching -- I've got my reputation to consider!"
'Thriller' sounded really funny in his voice, anyway.
Having been here ever since Nadani de Winter founded the school, Theron was quite used to Soren and his antics, so it didn't bother him too much. Though he had told Soren before -- 'if you're going to take the form of a badass, you have to act like a badass'.
When Yllarius gave his own demonstration of illusions, Theron's lips curved into a fanged grin and he looped one arm around the golden illusionist's shoulders. "This is just a hunch, but I think he might know," he said to the teacher. "Now if you guys would be so kind as to stop one-upping each other, I'll find your missing student so we can all get back to our work."
