The lock of the door marked 212 clicked open and in stumbled a small boy with white, curly hair carrying a large pile of books. He carefully set them down on a bed and let out a sigh of relief, pushing his curls from his face. That had been a long trek up the stairs; and there had been a lot of people, too. He had just arrived here not too long ago, and so had already missed half a day of classes....
He picked up one of his books; the one on top that read 'Miro' across the front in spiraling, pretty cursive. It was his medical journal, and he took it with him everywhere. On the center of the cover was a tree with lush green leaves that looked like they were swaying a little in a breeze. He set the journal aside and moved to put all his books in the messenger bag beside his bed.
According to the schedule papers, Miro's room mate was a freshman...he wondered if he was here yet...? Oh well. He was sure he'd meet him soon....eventually.... He could only hope that he was nice....
From his chest at the foot of the bed, he pulled a picture of a man and woman; the man had curly dark hair, and the woman had straight white hair that bounced around her smiling face. It was his Mamma and Pappa... With a sigh, he set the picture on his nightstand.

Miro's roommate wasn't there, but it was clear he had already settled in to the right side of the room. There wasn't much; he had a good sized suitcase sitting on his bed that wasn't yet unpacked, but he had put up a few things on his side.
A couple knick-knacks decorated his nightstand, all of them small and easy to carry around. There was a small figurine of a cat, one of a fox, and one of a bluebird...and also a tiny silver turtle paperweight.
His schoolbooks were there (even the ones he was supposed to have with him) and a cute stuffed mouse guarded his pillow. Over the footboard a long, black trenchcoat was thrown, and that was all of the other's possessions that were out in the open.
He was probably in 6th period, where most of the students were headed at this hour.

Miro studied the items from where he stood, then smiled a little. It seemed that his room mate didn't mind stuffed animals...
The boy rumaged around in his belongings a moment to pull out a two stuffed bears. One of them was worn and patched; this one he sat on his pillow. He sat the other one down before pulling out a sheet of paper from his journal and writing something, pinning it to the new bear and carefully placing it on the other's bed.
He thought that if he got his room mate something, they'd be able to get along a little bit...
With that, Miro gathered up his books and left the room, locking the door behind him.
'Hello,' the note read, 'I thought I'd get you something....to try and be friends. I hope you like stuffed bears! Miro'
